In today’s world, many would say Vincent van Gogh was on the autism spectrum with his artistic genius but his inability to survive mentally in the world he lived in overcame him. His artistic genius is outstanding.
Takes 3 or 4 minutes to watch this video incorporating lyrics that put words to the meaning of van Gogh's works. Well worth it if only to see the review of van Gogh's paintings. Please read below before watching https://youtu.be/vCDl149UBpo
I remember this song from many years ago, but I never paid that much attention to the words or thought about what its lyrics meant. Now I understand, and I must admit, this is beautiful. I liked the song years ago. Today I appreciate it in a whole new way here in blending van Gogh's art with Don McLean's musical artistry.
This song about Vincent van Gogh written by Don McLean was released on the flip side of the 45RPM song "American Pie" in 1971. Although "American Pie" is considered an anthem in modern music, I think this tribute to van Gogh is every bit as powerful. Don McLean wrote this song about Vincent van Gogh who never sold a painting while he lived. His brother Theo supported him even after Vincent declined mentally.
Whoever made this video deserves THANKS for selecting Vincent's paintings that perfectly match Don McLean's lyrics that pay tribute to this genius!
